NFL Draft Rapid Reaction LIVE

Follow me live on this thread for up to the minute news, reactions and commentary:

THATS ALL FOR TONIGHT THANKS FOR FOLLOWING ALONG GUYS. ILL HAVE A SEPARATE THREAD FOR THE REST OF MY FIRST ROUND BREAKDOWN TOMORROW

Pick 15- San Diego trades up and nabs Melvin Gordon. They knew they needed a running back and weren't afraid to get him. Good job moving up and not selling the farm.

Pick 14- Miami takes DaVante Parker. Needed to add a true number one receiver and got one.

Niners and Chargers swapped picks. SD is on the clock. SD gets the Niners 4th this year and additional pick next year.

9:36pm- If DaVante Parker is not the pick here then Miami is doing this all wrong.

Pick 13- New Orleans selects Andrus Peat. A shocker here since i thought he would be off the board. I don't see Peat developing into a solid tackle, but maybe a guard for the Saints.

Pick 12- Cleveland takes Danny Shelton. A little earlier than i projected but he's an immediate starter for the Browns.

Pick 11- Minnesota adds to a young secondary and takes Trae Waynes. Solid pick and a great scheme fit.

Pick 10- St. Louis take Todd Gurley. Value pick, doesn't need to rush onto the field and can work his way into the lineup.

Pick 9- Giants take Ereck Flowers. Great player with run and pass blocking capability. Huge upside.

Pick 8- Atlanta takes Vic Beasley. Huge upgrade. Small body but he is a monster pass rusher. Kiss my mock draft goodbye.

Pick 7- Chicago selects Kevin White. After seeing Cooper taken they grab White. They needed a replacement for Marshall. Good pick here, ruining my mock draft.

Pick 6- New York Jets take Leonard Williams. WOW! Sit back at six and get the best player in the class. Might get traded, if not Id be scared to play the Jets.

Pick 5- Biggest surprise so far. Scherff is a good player but how can you pass on Williams here? Look for the Giants to start getting active.

Pick 4- Oakland selects Amari Cooper. 3-4 on picks but he fills a huge hole.

Pick 3- J'Ville takes Fowler Jr. so far I'm 3-3 with my mock draft. Fowler is an immediate starter.

8:23pm- Jags OTC should be Fowler but won't be surprised if Amari Cooper is taken here. Heard a lot about Jacksonville loving the kid.

Pick 2- Tennessee takes Mariota. A trade is still in play, with Philly still front-runners

Pick 1- Tampa Bay takes Jameis Winston. We already knew this. Now onto the madness at #2

8:03pm- The Chargers have informed QB Phillip Rivers they are not going to trade him during the draft.

7:59pm- Philly in trying to move to 1 or 2, willing to give up two 1's a 3rd Kendricks Boykin and Cox.

7:50pm- ESPN reporting the Buccaneers are fielding offers for the first pick. They'd only take a trade with a team that could guarantee they would still get Winston.

7:35pm- Chicago is willing to deal QB Jay Cutler to Tennessee, but the Titans are not interested per multiple sources.

7:27pm- Chicago is calling Tennessee about potentially trading up for the second pick.

We're less than an hour away from the first pick and rumors are picking up about potential trades. Cleveland and Philly are still trying to move to number 2, and St. Louis is fielding offers for number 10, having received phone calls from a handful of teams interested.

NFL Draft: Final Thoughts

The NFL Draft is finally here! Here are some of my final thoughts before the clock starts at 8pm.

1. Jameis Winston will be taken first overall, unless JJ Watt and and first round pick are put on the table. Tampa Bay has been overall satisfied with what they've seen and heard from Winston and want him to be the face of the franchise.

2. Tennessee should make the move and trade away number two. The asking price should be high, but Philly and Cleveland are still calling the Titans. If they don't make the deal, I'm told they're still comfortable taking Marcus Mariota.

3. Don't sleep on Jacksonville to be in play for a receiver. Word from the Jags' camp is that they're REALLY high on Amari Cooper.

4. Two players have had issues during the weeks leading up to the Draft with substance abuse (Randy Gregory and Shane Ray). While they have dropped out of the top-10, I can't see them falling out of the first round.

5. The Jets don't like the 5 slot. They've been phoning teams to gauge the value of their pick, as well as talking about both moving up or trading down. If they trade down, look for them to target Gregory or Ray.

6. Corner has been a hard position to judge. There are at least four players with first round ability, and I think four or five will be taken in the first round.

7. Landon Collins draft value is dropping. He should be a first round pick, but don't be surprised if he isn't the only safety taken in the first. Many analysts have Damarious Randall (Arizona State) as their best safety.

8. Outside of the top-10 players, there isn't a clear cut census as to what players are really the next level talent. Players like Jake Fisher, Cedric Ogbuehi, Devin Smith, Nelson Agholor and Eli Harold are all players that are on the fringe that could surprise people by getting drafted in the first round.

9. Miami REALLY REALLY likes DaVante Parker. If he is still on the board i wouldn't be shocked if he's the pick, but keep your eyes out for Todd Gurley to Miami as well.

10. I've heard the Rams are very high on OT Ereck Flowers. They could move back a few picks and still nab him. Look for the Dolphins to make a move to take Parker.

11. Baltimore needs offensive weapons. Running Back and Receiver should be areas to target, but if there isn't value when they go on the clock, look for them to take a corner and sure up their secondary. Baltimore does a great job of letting the draft fall to them and taking the best player available.

12. The New England Patriots will likely try to trade out of the first round, as they always do. They can demand a little more for their 32nd pick, since many teams would want to jump back into the first to get a 5th year option on the player they're drafting.

13. St. Louis, the New York Jets, and the Buccaneers should all be looking to jump back into the first round depending on the players available. I think the Rams would be ion play for a quarterback (Bryce Petty or Brett Hundley), while the Jets should be looking to add another receiver.

14. Since 2004, only four quarterbacks drafted in the first round have won a Super Bowl (Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Joe Flacco). I don't believe that Winston or Mariota are going to be the best pros from this class.

15. The Packers are very high on LB Erick Kendricks and CB Jalen Collins. Most analysts have both of these players as second round talent and should be available early in round 2. Look for Green Bay to field offers for their pick.

16. Todd Gurley might be taken as early as 5th overall, and may not make it out of the top-10.

Matt Geiger Final NFL Mock Draft

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Jameis Winston (QB, Florida State)

It's no surprise that Tampa takes Winston here. Head Coach Lovie Smith has already said he feels very comfortable having Jameis as the face of the Buccaneers. Winston has the least amount of questions on the field, and it seems like he answered most of the issues off the field. He is used to playing in a pro-style offense and will be the opening day quarterback.

2. Tennessee Titans- Marcus Mariota (QB, Oregon)

I have a strong feeling that Mariota is going 2nd overall. I think Tennessee trades the pick away and adds some more draft picks. Cleveland, and San Diego have been rumored to be interested, with Cleveland having more to offer and already willing to part ways with Johnny Manziel; But don't count out Philadelphia either. If you note my "Trade Mock Draft," I explored the idea that a three-way trade between Cleveland Tennessee and Philly could happen, and rumors of this are popping up more and more. St. Louis is also rumored to have some interest in the second pick as well.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Dante Fowler Jr. (EDGE, Florida)

Jacksonville needs an outside pass-rusher regardless of who is available. Passing up on Leonard Williams will be hard but Fowler is a very good prospect.

4. Oakland Raiders- Leonard Williams (DL, USC)

If Williams is still on the board I cannot see Oakland passing up on him. Amari Cooper and Kevin White are very tempting picks, but Oakland could add a receiver later in the draft, with receiver being a loaded position in the class.

5. Washington Redskins- Vic Beasley (EDGE, Clemson)

Washington needs an outside pass-rusher badly. Beasley would be a great compliment to the Redskins' powerful defensive line.

6. New York Jets- Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)

It will be tempting for the Jets to take one of the receivers, and tempting for Jets fans to hate the front office when they pass on them, but the need for a pass-rush is a bigger priority since the addition of Brandon Marshall. Look for the Jets to add a receiver early in the second round while there is still first round talent available. Also be on the lookout for the Jets to pull the trigger on a trade considering one of the highly touted rushers (Shane Ray) failed a drug test. If they feel there isn't value taking Dupree or Gregory here, they'll listen to offers.

7. Chicago Bears- Amari Cooper (WR, Alabama)

Chicago doesn't draft offensive skill players in the first round very much (4 in the last 15 years). Amari Cooper is too talented and comes in ready to play from day-one. The Bears will be happy to see him slide this far and could be replacing Brandon Marshall with a future All-Pro.

8. Atlanta Falcons- Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)

Atlanta has had no luck with any pass-rushing players in recent years, and haven't really drafted any in recent memory. Breaking the mold and drafting Gregory should at least give them a solid linebacker that can get to the quarterback, and also provide sufficient pass-coverage.

9. New York Giants- Brandon Scherff (OL, Iowa)

New York gets tougher along their line and helps keep Eli upright.

10. St. Louis Rams- Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)

St. Louis simply should not pass up the opportunity to add a player as talented as White to a position they've struggled with since the departures of Tory Holt and Isaac Bruce.

11. Minnesota Vikings- Trae Waynes (CB, Michigan State)

Minnesota adds the best cover corner in the draft to pair along side with the underrated Xavier Rhodes.

12. Cleveland Browns- Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)

Wether it's Cleveland or Tennessee drafting here, Shelton is the pick. He's the best available and is a fit to both teams.

13. New Orleans Saints- Shane Ray (EDGE, Missouri)

Even after the recent arrest, New Orleans will take a shot on Ray, who will likely be suspended. New Orleans holds two first-round picks and can take a chance.

14. Miami Dolphins- DaVante Parker (WR, Louisville)

Miami continues to revamp its receiving corps adding Parker. This gives them a true "number one" receiver in Parker to pair along with Kenny Stills and Jarvis Landry.

15. San Fransisco 49ers- Arik Armstead (DT, Oregon)

I still feel this is a bit of a reach, but Armstead is an athletic interior lineman that new Head Coach Jim Tomsula can mold to be HIS guy.

16. Houston Texans- Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)

Houston will look to add a speedy receiver to pair with the emerging stud DeAndre Hopkins. A sight for sore eyes for whoever is throwing the ball in Houston next season.

17. San Diego Chargers- Todd Gurley (RB, Georgia)

Gurley is one of the best prospects in the class and San Diego would be able to ease him on the field while he gets back to 100% after an  ACL injury.

18. Kansas City Chiefs- La'el Collins (OL, LSU)

Kansas City beefs up the line to further expand their dominant running game. Collins can play both tackle positions and would be a great opposite Eric Fisher.

19. Cleveland Browns- Andrus Peat (OL, Stanford)

Cleveland knows they're going to have to run the ball this season so adding Peat gives them more talent across the line.

20. Philadelphia Eagles- Kevin Johnson (CB, Wake Forest)

Philly adds some depth to the secondary.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- Landon Collins (S, Alabama)

The Bengals can use a safety to go along with the impressive stock pile of corners they have.

22. Pittsburgh Steelers- Jalen Collins (CB, LSU)

Pittsburgh has a depleted secondary after the retirements of Troy Polamalu and Ike Taylor. Collins is the second best corner in the draft, and fits the scheme in Pitt well.

23. Detroit Lions- Eddie Goldman (DT, Florida State)

The Lions could use a running back, but finding a replacement for Suh and Fairley to pair with Haloti Ngata should be a higher priority.

24. Arizona Cardinals- Melvin Gordon (RB, Wisconsin)

Arizona should realize by now that Andre Ellington can't be trusted as a reliable three-down back. Gordon is a pure runner and would give the offense insurance in case Ellington goes down, or if Palmer gets injured.

25. Carolina Panthers- DJ Humphries (OL, Florida)

Carolina needs to protect Cam Newton plain and simple.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Marcus Peters (CB, Washington)

Baltimore can add a reliable corner. He comes with off-field luggage but that shouldn't be an issue with the Ravens.

27. Dallas Cowboys- Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)

After watching Gurley and Gordon come off the board, the Cowboys address another hole in their roster by adding Brown. Dallas needs a presence on the interior line and Brown is one of the underrated players at the position.

28. Denver Broncos- Cameron Erving (OL, Florida State)

Perfect scheme fit for Denver. Erving can pass-block, run-block and is a smart player.

29. Indianapolis Colts- Jordan Phillips (DT, Oklahoma)

Indy adds a defensive tackle that can play three downs. Phillips is the prototype 3-4 defensive tackle, and gives some attitude to the Colts' front seven.

30. Green Bay Packers- Erick Kendricks (LB, UCLA)

Green Bay adds the most underrated player in the draft, and fills a huge gap in their roster. Kendricks excels at all facets of defense and should be a huge upgrade for the Packers.

31. New Orleans Saints- Phillip Dorsett

New Orleans continues the offensive overhaul by adding another burner. Dorsett is high on the Saints' draft board and they'll pounce all over him if he is still available.

32. New England Patriots- Carl Davis (DT, Iowa)

New England get their replacement for Vince Wilfork. Carl Davis is a mammoth and can plug the running lanes for linebackers.

The NFL Mock Draft: TRADES TRADES TRADES!!!!

I have stated before that I don't mock trades in any of my drafts. After hearing some feedback from a few fans, I decided that I want to release one Mock Draft with some trades that could really shake up the draft. The trades here could happen, but I don't think all of them are very realistic. There will be minimal analysis on the picks that haven't changed throughout my drafts.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Jameis Winston (QB, Florida State)

He has been the pick here for months now, and that won't change.

2. (3-team trade. TENNESSEE RECEIVES- 2015 picks 12 and 19. CLEVELAND RECEIVES- QB Sam Bradford and Philadelphia 2016 first-round pick. PHILADELPHIA RECEIVES 2015 2nd pick overall)- Philadelphia Eagles- Marcus Mariota (QB, Oregon)

Philadelphia jumps the gun and lands the quarterback they've been targeting all along, and still keep their 20th overall pick in this years draft. Cleveland offered both of their first-round picks to the Rams for Bradford earlier in the off-season, and get the guy they wanted as well. Tennessee adds another first-round pick this year, and potentially additional picks.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Dante Fowler Jr. (EDGE, Florida)

Although Leonard Williams would be available here, the Jags need an outside pass-rusher. Fowler may not have the caliber of talent, he is still one of the premier players in this class.

4. Oakland Raiders- Leonard Williams (DL, USC)

Oakland would love to add a receiver to their offense, but with arguably the best defensive player in the draft available, the Raiders jump on the opportunity.

5. Washington Redskins- Shane Ray (EDGE, Missouri)

Washington's strength on defense comes from the defensive line, and although they have a strong front, they have little pass-rush from their linebackers. Replacing Brian Orakpo with Shane Ray is an upgrade.

6. New York Jets- Vic Beasley (EDGE, Clemson)

New York might look to trade back into the first round, which would give them additional picks to address some of the gaps in their roster they didn't already address in what was a very impressive off-season. There are also rumors of the Jets selecting Todd Gurley here, but I don't believe the Jets could pull the trigger on him at 6. If they move back that could be why, otherwise adding Beasley would solidify a vastly improved defense compared to last year.

7. Chicago Bears- Amari Cooper (WR, Alabama)

Chicago benefits from the shake up earlier in the draft, leaving them to choose between the two best receivers in the draft. Cooper still has the slight edge in my opinion, and his pro-ready style of play fits well with the Bears. This would also signify a viable, if not upgraded replacement for Brandon Marshall who was traded to the Jets.

8. Atlanta Falcons- Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)

Atlanta winds up with the premier pass-rusher in this class, and although he has his off-field issues, the Falcons cannot pass up the opportunity to take a player that solves their defensive woes. Gregory is the shiny new toy new Head Coach Dan Quinn is looking for, and will be used much like Bruce Irvin was when Quinn was in Seattle.

9. New York Giants- Brandon Scherff (OL, Iowa)

The Giants get tougher on the offensive line. Sherff can play multiple positions and will help keep Eli standing upright, allowing him to deliver to his array of pass-catchers.

10. St. Louis Rams- Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)

The Rams need help on the offensive line, but cannot pass the chance to take a player with White's talent level. None of the receivers drafted in recent years have panned out, but White has the potential to be an elite talent in the league. This would put three Mountaineers on the Rams (White, Tavon Austin and Steadman Bailey).

11. Minnesota Vikings- Trae Waynes (CB, Michigan State)

Minnesota signed Terrance Newmann, but will still draft Waynes, who would fit into the Vinkings' system and pair well with Xavier Rhodes.

12.Tennessee Titans (VIA Cleveland)- Danny Shelton (DT Washington)

Tennessee still gets a great defensive tackle after passing up on Leonard Williams. Drafting Shelton allows the Titans to slide Jurrell Casey to move around the defensive line and create matchup problems.

13. New Orleans Saints- Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)

The Saints defense needs to get better at sacking the quarterback and Dupree is the best available.

14. Miami Dolphins- DeVante Parker (WR, Louisville)

Miami should look to add another receiver to pair with Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills. Breshad Perryman is rumored to be linked to this pick, but he has too similar a playing style to Kenny Stills, and Parker is a way more polished pro-ready player.

15. San Fransisco 49ers- Arik Armstead (DT, Oregon)

I still feel this is a bit of a reach, but the Niners have a need, and Armstead is athletic and versatile, which Head Coach Jim Tomsula will drool over; That is until he realizes that Armstead will probably wind up being the bust of this draft.

16. TRADE: Houston trades 2015 pick 16, 2016 first round pick and Ryan Mallett to San Diego for Philip Rivers.

San Diego selects Jalen Collins (CB, LSU)

San Diego has said they aren't going to trade Rivers, but if the right situation arrises, they'll listen. They not only get two first-round picks this year, they get an additional pick next year, and a developing quarterback in Mallett. Rivers gets his wish of not having to play in LA, and Houston gets their starting quarterback.

17. San Diego Chargers- Todd Gurley (RB, Georgia)

After moving Rivers, the Chargers are going into rebuild mode. Gurley is the best running back prospect in the draft, but might not play right away while rehabbing am ACL injury. Regarless of Gurleys status, they'll need to have a running game to take the pressure off of whoever is under center.

18. Kansas City Chiefs- Andrus Peat (OL, Stanford)

Kansas City needs to get younger on the offensive line. Peat could play right tackle until he develops enough to take over the blind side.

19. Tennessee Titans- La'el Collins (OL, LSU)

Tennessee doesn't have much talent on their offensive line outside of Taylor Lewan. Collins will be a solid right tackle and excels in all facets of offense.

20. Philadelphia Eagles- Landon Collins (S, Alabama)

After getting their quarterback, they get the best safety in the class, and lock up a future Por-Bowler.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- Marcus Peters (CB, Washington)

Cincy needs to add depth at corner and isn't shy about taking players with off-field issues.

22. Pittsburgh Steelers- DJ Humphries (OL, Florida)

Pittsburgh needs secondary help but there isn't any value when they pick at 22. Adding a player like Humphries will further improve their running game.

23. Detroit Lions- Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)

Detroit has to replace Ndamukong Suh and Brown could be an anchor on their defensive line.

24. Arizona Cardinals- Melvin Gordon (RB, Wisconsin)

The Cardinals can't trust Andre Ellington to be an three-down back with his injury troubles, and Gordon will provide a true running force for the Cardinals.

25. Carolina Panthers- TJ Clemmings (OL, Pittsburgh)

Carolina has to protect Cam Newton, plain and simple.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Kevin Johnson (CB, Wake Forest)

Baltimore locked up Jimmy Smith with a new extension and still have Ladarius Webb, but need to bolster their secondary.

27. Dallas Cowboys- Preston Smith (DL, Mississippi State)

Dallas needs to add defensive lineman, and could trade up to do so. Adding a running back seems like something they'll address later in the draft, but if they don't move from 27, Smith is a underrated prospect.

28. Denver Broncos- Cameron Erving (C, Florida State)

Denver should look to improve their offensive line to continue to keep Peyton protected. Erving fits the pro-style passing scheme in Denver.

29. Indianapolis Colts- Jordan Phillips (DT, Oklahoma)

Indy needs a run stuffer and Phillips has the capability to be a cornerstone for their defensive line.

30. Green Bay Packers- Erick Kendricks (LB, UCLA)

I love this pick for Green Bay. It's a perfect fit, and Kendricks is one of the most underrated players in this years class.

31. New Orleans Saints- Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)

New Orleans has had Perriman in their buildings for private workouts and interviews and has fallen in love with him. Adding him to play alongside Brandin Cooks would give them two of the fastest receivers in the league.

32. TRADE: New England trades pick 32 overall to St. Louis for St. Louis 2nd round pick (41 overall) 4th round pick, and future 2nd round pick.

St. Louis Rams- Brett Hundley (QB, UCLA)

The Rams jump back into the first round to secure Hundley who may be taken earlier then the 9th pick in round 2. They not only add a backup quarterback, but insurance in case Nick Foles gets injured, or they don't retain him past next season.

2015 Offseason Preview: Philadelphia Eagles

As part of the Offseason Preview series, Marcy Cere, a good friend and huge Eagles fanatic asked what Philly has been up to this offseason. Aside from signing three of the five quarterbacks with the worst QBR for a season in the last five years, this is how the offseason is shaping up for the Eagles.

2015 PHILADELPHIA EAGLES OFFSEASON PREVIEW

The Eagles have seen a boost in success since Head Coach Chip Kelly came bursting on the scene. They posted an impressive 10-6 record even with a slew of injuries to key players, the biggest of which was quarterback Nick Foles. Although Philadelphia had a 10 win season, it wasn't good enough to make the playoffs, which is a let down to most fans. The Eagles front office started the off-season with a bang by trading superstar running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills, in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso. They followed that up by signing the league leader in rushing yards, DeMarco Murray, and trading Nick Foles along with draft picks to St. Louis for Sam Bradford. There is a feeling of confusion by some fans, but all in all, Philly is making the right moves to better position themselves atop the NFC East.

Key Departures- RB LeSean McCoy (traded to Buffalo); TE James Casey (free-agent); CB Carey Williams (signed with Seattle); S Nate Allen (signed with Oakland); CB Bradley Fletcher (signed with New England); WR Jeremy Maclin (signed with Kansas City); LB Trent Cole (signed with Indianapolis); G Todd Herremans (signed with Indianapolis)

Key Additions- CB Byron Maxwell; LB Kiko Alonso (trade from Buffalo); RB Ryan Mathews; RB DeMarco Murray; DE Brandon Graham (re-signed); QB Mark Sanchez (re-signed); CB Walter
Thurmond; WR Miles Austin.

Eagles on Draft Day

The Eagles own the 20th pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. There has been a lot of recent speculation that Philly might try to trade up to select Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, but after the latest moves from the Eagles i think we can dispel that rumor. Already carrying four quarterbacks after signing Tim Tebow to a contract, I think there is no chance Philly would be willing to part ways with multiple draft picks to take Mariota. As i dug into the Eagles depth chart i noticed a few things worth noting.

The 20th pick is going to be an interesting spot. Philadelphia has amazing talent throughout their roster, but one spot that popped out to me was the safety position. In the right scenario, the Eagles could wind up having Landon Collins (Safety, Alabama) fall right into their lap. Collins is the best safety in this years class and he would schematically fit in Philadelphia's defense. Collins is a ball hawk in coverage and can come into the box and provide above average run support for a defensive back. Pairing Collins with Malcolm Jenkins would be a perfect role, since they can both play deep zones, and cover tight ends, slot receivers and running backs. If Collins is available at 20, I'd be shocked if his name wasn't called by Commissioner Goddell.

Looking deeper into the draft strategy, Philly owns seven more picks in 2015. Losing Jeremy Maclin was huge blow to Chip Kelly's high octane offense. Since Kelly took over in Philadelphia, his number one receiver posted career highs (DeSean Jackson in 2013, and Maclin in 2014). The offense has always had weapons, but there isn't much talent in the receiving corps outside of Jordan
Matthews. Look for the Eagles to be very aggressive in the second round. If a player like Jalen Strong  (Arizona State) or Dorial Beckham-Green (Missouri) is still available, they would surely look to package a draft pick or two to move up. Adding a bigger bodied receiver could really change the way the depth chart looks. If a first-round caliber player isn't there, there are still some options for Philly. Nelson Agholor (USC) is a guy who is shooting up draft boards that could still be available in the second round. One player that might need a little time to develop, but would be an interesting project for Pat Shurmur to work with is Darren Waller (Georgia Tech). He definitely needs to polish his game up, but he is a huge target with good hands, and could be a red-zone receiver while he works out the kinks in the rest of his game.

With the addition of Byron Maxwell and Walter Thurmond, you may think the the Eagles would be set at corner. I think they need to add depth to the roster, and could find some sleepers in days 2-3. I think one of the obvious prospects on Chip Kelly's radar would be Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, because of the level of talent he possesses, and because Kelly loves his Oregon players. Ekpre-Olomu was hurt during practice for the Rose Bowl, and although his knee injury has left him unable to work out for teams, Kelly knows how talented he is, and adding him to a revamped secondary could give them a huge boost in pass protection. Digging deeper into the draft, Josh Shaw (USC) and Doran Grant (Ohio State) could both be late round steals.

Philly has stacked up on linebackers this offseason, and have great pass-rushers as well. The only part of the run defense they could use help with is at defensive tackle. Bennie Logan is a good tackle, but they should look to add depth behind him. I don't see the Eagles looking to add a tackle early in the draft, but if a player such as Danny Shelton falls to 20th (a long shot but not impossible), I do think they would give it serious consideration. Some defensive tackles could be available day three, and could give support to the defensive line rotation. Grady Jarrett (Clemson) is projected as a 2nd-3rd round pick, but is a run stuffing force. Mario Edwards Jr. (Florida State) is a versatile lineman who could play tackle or end, but needs help with conditioning if he wants to be more than a rotational player. Also keep an eye out for David Parry (Stanford) and James Castleman (Oklahoma State) as guys who would be a developmental player, and would likely be competing for a roster spot in the preseason.

The Eagles have a very talented squad, and one of the best offensive-minded coaches in the league. They're literally one or two pieces away from being serious Super Bowl contenders. The 2015 NFL Draft will be pivotal in the success of Philadelphia, not only for the 2015 season, but for the long term success of the franchise. Although there are questions surrounding the quarterback position, Chip Kelly has said he wants to run the ball frequently, and who better to do that than last years leading rusher DeMarco Murray. I do believe the Eagles are one of the more interesting teams to watch in 2015.

2015 Offseason Preview: Cincinnati Bengals

As part of my offseason previews, Mat Mendez, a die hard Bengals fan asks what Cincy will have to do to keep themselves atop the AFC North. Here is my take on some of the moves and draft needs looking forward to 2015.

2015 BENGALS OFFSEASON PREVIEW

The Bengals have been consistent in the AFC North for a few seasons, and 2015 was no different. Led by veteran Head Coach Marvin Lewis they posted a regular season record of 10-5-1, good enough for a Wild Card berth, which was followed up by an early exist to the Indianapolis Colts in the opening round of the playoffs. Cincinnati will look to build on a good season by adding to an already impressive roster. Many fans hate the idea of Andy Dalton still being under center, but the success of the team can't be denied since his arrival. They have seen some players walk in free agency, and should look to the draft to address some key needs.

Key Departures- WR Greg Little (Free-Agent); TE Jermaine Gresham (Free-Agent); T Marshall Newhouse (Free-Agent).

Key Additions- DE Michael Johnson; WR Denarius Moore; LB A.J. Hawk; WR Brandon Tate (re-signed); T Eric Winston (re-signed); G Clint Boling (re-signed); DL Devon Still (re-signed).

Bengals On Draft Day

The Bengals made some much needed moves during free-agency. They re-signed offensive linemen Clint Boling long term and also brought back tackle Eric Winston. This assures they can keep the same smash-mouth type attack they had last season, led by the surprising performance of rookie Jeremy Hill. There aren't many positions on the roster that need immediate addressing, so the Bengals can and should sit back and let the draft come to them.

With the current roster in Cincinnati, taking the best available player is a sensible option ion the first round (they own the 21st overall pick). If you reference my most recent mock draft, I believe the Bengals will look to add a pass-rusher to solidify an already scary defense. Bud Dupree will more than likely be the best available at 21, although due to off-field issues from Randy Gregory, there could be a little mix-up. Teams may see Gregory as a liability and pass up on him for Dupree, leaving Gregory still available when the Bengals are on the clock. As many already know, coach Marvin Lewis isn't shy about taking players with personal issues and helping them work through it. Dupree would be a great pick, but if Gregory is available the Bengals will salivate at the idea of taking potentially the best pass-rusher in this years class.

If the Bengals choose not to take a pass-rusher in the first round, there could be some players they target after day one. Eli Harold (Virginia) and Lorenzo Mauldin are both prospects that will be available on day two, and could produce for a team right out of the gate. Digging deeper into the draft, Junior Sylvestre (Toledo), could develop into a nice starter with proper coaching. Mike Hull (Penn St) and J.R. Tavai (USC) could be late round or free agent signings to keep an eye on. While they won't be ready to play week one, they could wind up working their way onto a roster and produce as a backup.

Outside of Andy Dalton, Cincy doesn't have a viable quarterback. If Dalton were to go down, there would be a world of trouble if they had to rely on A.J. McCarron or Josh Johnson had to go under center. Adding a quarterback would not only give the team a reliable backup, but it could potentially light a fire under Dalton to take the next step towards joining the ranks of "above average." I don't think the Bengals would address quarterback until later in the draft, but could snag a player they could tailor to fit the offensive scheme. A player like Sean Mannion could be taken on day 3 (5th-7th round) and work with coaches while not having the pressure to produce and learn on the fly. After Manion, there aren't any quarterbacks who I believe are worth drafting, but could be nice rookie free-agent signings. Anthony Boone (Duke) and Taylor Kelly (Arizona State) would likely come into the league competing for a roster spot as a 3rd or 4th quarterback.

Looking at the defensive depth chart the only spot that seems like it could use an immediate upgrade is at safety. George Iloka is a great talent, but Reggie Nelson is a below average starter and is replaceable. Safety is a weak in this draft class, and it wouldn't pay off to take any safety until at least the fourth round. Kurtis Drummond (Michigan State) is a big body safety who could compliment Iloka nicely, and is worth the risk in the fourth round. Detrick Bonner (Virginia Tech) is another potential late round target. He has great coverage skills and has the size required to play safety.

The Bengals have an already talented roster, and the NFL Draft should help position them to take another step forward to making a deep run in the playoffs. Marvin Lewis needs to find a way to keep his team atop the AFC North, and that should start with a ground-and-pound led offensive attack. The bottom line for Cincy is they need to relieve pressure from Andy Daltons shoulders in order to take the leap in 2015.

2015 Offseason Preview: Oakland Raiders

As part of the offseason series, Mike Mendez wanted to know what the Oakland Raiders will be doing when the NFL Draft comes around April 30th.

2015 OAKLAND RAIDERS OFFSEASON PREVIEW

The Raiders finished a typical season posting a 3-13 record, and fired head coach Dennis Allen. Stints with running backs Maurice Jones-Drew (retirement) and Darren McFadden (signed with Dallas) came to and end, and the Raiders still sit at the bottom of the AFC West standings. Enter seasoned coach Jack Del Rio to man the ship, and a young talented roster lead by second-year quarterback
Derek Carr and Rookie of the Year runner up Khalil Mack. The Raiders have a lot of talent on their roster, but will look to keep improving with the class of rookies coming into the NFL in 2015.

Key Departures- DL Antonio Smith (signed DEN); WR Denarius Moore (signed CIN); C Setfan Wisnewski (free-agent); QB Matt Schaub (signed BAL); S Tyvon Branch (signed KC); RB Darren McFadden (signed DAL); RB Maurice Jones-Drew (retired)

Key Additions- WR Michael Crabtree; RB Roy Helu; LB Malcolm Smith; S Nate Allen; LB Curtis Lofton.

Raiders on Draft Day-

The Raiders are a tricky team to make any predictions for, due to the amount of talent on their roster. The lack of success may be due to playing in a stacked division, and the amount of young skilled players who haven't been in a winning locker room. They have some depth to their roster, and seem to only be a few pieces away form contending.

Oakland owns the fourth pick in the draft, and is in position to take the best available player. Assuming the draft plays out the way i predict in previous mocks, the Raiders will be looking at
Kevin White, or Amari Cooper (whom i believe would be the two best prospects receivers in the draft). Adding a pass-rusher seems unlikely since the Raiders have a cornerstone player in Khalil Mack. As of now, Kevin White should be the target here due to his sky-rocketing stock since the draft.

Outside of the first round, another area the Raiders should look to address is their secondary. D.J. Hayden, Nate Allen and Charles Woodson are good players, but adding young depth to the secondary seems to be a high priority. Looking into day three of the draft, a player like Senquez Golson (Mississippi) should be available in the third round. He is a little undersized, but should be a solid slot corner in the NFL. Another target they may consider is Ifo
Ekpre-Olomu (Oregon). He may be one of the biggest steals of the draft, considering he was a potential first-round pick before he got injured. Safeties Ladarius Gunter and Cody Prewett could be late draft additions that have potential to develop into solid starters.

Another position that Oakland could add depth to late in the draft could be linebacker. They have a solid group of starters, but lack viable talent in the event that a player is injured. Khalil Mack, Malcolm Smith and Curtis Lofton will need someone behind them if the Raiders want to solidify their defense. Taiwan Jones (Michigan State), could be a good addition on day three, and could help solidify the run defense. Jordan Hicks (Texas) and Jake Ryan (Michigan) could be brought in towards the end of the draft to help anchor a pass rush.

Derek Carr needs to keep progressing and taking the right steps in the league in order to compete in the division. Jack Del Rio and his coaching staff need to unleash the full potential of Latavius Murray and the running game to keep heat off of Carr, and must also get the full potential out of his defense
to stop the high powered offenses of San Diego and Denver. A successful draft could mean a turn in the tides of the AFC West, and it will all start with pick number four.

2015 NFL Offseason Preview: San Francisco 49ers

Anthony Santiago, a huge 49ers fan requested that i dive into the roster and give some insight into what the San Francisco Niners may be looking to do when they're on the clock in 2 weeks.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS OFFSEASON PREVIEW

Coming off a disappointing season, the Niners looked like a young but talented team that could build on a lack luster season where many people thought they could contend for another title. They followed up a 2013 12-4 season where they lost to Seattle in the conference championship by posting a very unimpressive record of 8-8 in 2014. That followed by an off-season where head coach Jim Harbaugh left town to coach the University of Michigan, with a slew of players departed as well.

Offseason departures:

Free Agents- Kassim Osgood, Brandon Lloyd, Dan Skuta, Mike Iupati, Chris Culliver, Frank Gore, Perrish Cox, Stevie Johnson, Ray McDonald, Johnathan Martin, Josh Johnson, and Michael Crabtree have all signed with other teams.

To add to an already depleted roster, linebackers Chris Borland and Patrick Willis retired. Filling the holes that premier players such as Willis, Borland, Iupati and McDonald left will surely be a challenge. The Niners have however made some roster moves, adding and re-signing a few key players.

Offseason additions-

Torrey Smith, Blaine Gabbert, Chris Cook, Eric Pears, Desmond Bishop, Darnell Dockett.

The addition of Torrey Smith was huge for the Niners, after watching a handful of receivers walk in free agency. Darnell Dockett should be a pivotal part of keeping the defense held together in the very competitive NFC West. With all that said, it still looks like the Niners need to do a lot more in the draft to ensure they aren't buried in the cellar of the toughest division in football.

49ers on Draft Day-

Looking forward to the NFL draft, San Fran has a lot of holes to fill if they wanna be powerhouses in the NFL again. The first thing that pops out at me when looking at their roster is the lack of talent on the offensive line. In order to keep Colin Kaepernick protected, and the run game effective, they will surely need to add pieces. Drafting 15th overall, there could be potential to take a versatile lineman who could play multiple positions. La'el Collins should be available at 15, and could be a starter immediately for the Niners. He could play multiple positions, and would best be suited playing guard while adjusting to NFL caliber talent. Later in the draft, They could use a player like Laken Tomlinson, who is a mauler and would succeed in a power-running scheme. New Head Coach Jim Tomsula loves running the ball and adding players that will help Carlos Hyde should be a top priority.

After the retirement of Patrick Willis, the Niners were shocked when second year player Chris Borland announced his retirement due to fear of long term health. Finding a replacement has to happen during the draft. Assuming the front office and scouts are doing their homework, they'll realize that linebacker is pretty deep in this class, and they should look to add some players in day two and three. Players like Denzel Perryman, Phil Dawson and Benardrick McKinney should be available on day two, and could make an immediate impact on defense.

If you recall my latest mock draft, I have the 49ers selecting defensive tackle Arik Armstead from Oregon in the first round. San Fransisco could use depth at nose tackle, but I believe this pick will change, even though adding depth to the defensive line should be a priority. Armstead is projected to be taken in the first round, but will likely be a developmental player. Aside from Armstead, there are some prospects that the Niners could take later in the draft. Danny Shelton could be available at 15, and should wind up having a more productive career long-term. Gabe Wright from Auburn could be available in round 3, and could work his way into the rotation as well.

The success of next season will start with the NFL Draft, and the players selected. It will also sit on the shoulders of Colin Kaepernick, who has been working with Kurt Warner to further develop his passing game. Kaep has impressed coaches and tight end Vernon Davis with his progression, but will need to build rapport with his receivers in order to compete again in the NFC West. The time put in by scouts and the players will reflect directly on how successful the 49ers will be next season.

7 Under the Radar Prospects

Every fan gets excited about the elite talent that their favorite team could choose in the NFL Draft, but a lot of superstars in the NFL aren't first-round picks. These prospects are some players that could potentially be the next late-round steal for your team.

Brett Hundley (QB, UCLA)- Most people fail to realize that had Hundley declared for the draft last year, he may very well have been a first-round selection. When watching Hundley it is apparent that he has work to do before he'll be successful in the NFL. However, I do see a lot of good things from him. He has good size and isn't afraid to stay in the pocket and take a hit if necessary. He has mobility and throws well on the run. His throws get to receivers from anywhere on the field, and he works play-action well. He will certainly be a developmental player, but if he lands on a team that isn't asking him to play from day one, he should be able to work himself into a good NFL starter.

TJ Yeldon (RB, Alabama)- It's easy to overlook Yeldon when players like Melvin Gordon and Todd Gurley have first round potential. The hype from these two guys may benefit him in the long run. Yeldon could be a 2nd-3rd round draft choice. There are some knocking his game, saying he doesn't have much power and he likes to juke instead of going through defenders. Yeldon won't be asked to be a workhorse early in his career, and with coaching help, these things can be addressed quickly. He could be a steal for a team looking to add depth to an aging backfield, where he can learn from a veteran.

Darren Waller (WR, Georgia Tech)- By no means is Waller the next Megatron, but his size and speed combination are hard to find in a raw prospect. Standing at 6'6" 236 lbs. you could see why he could be coveted as a later round gem. He has raw talent, but could produce for a team in the red-zone while adjusting to the pro game. He has good hands but may need work on his route running. He will definitely be a developmental player, but could eventually be the type of threat that a player like Plaxaco Burress was in Pittsburgh.

Ben Koyack (TE, Notre Dame)- The tight ends in this years class aren't jaw-dropping, but have the potential to be solid starters down the line. Koyack was used to his full capability at ND, and while he shows skills in the passing game, he needs to get tougher when blocking. A team looking for a developmental player could take a shot and strike gold.

Nate Orchard (DE, Utah)- Orchard etched himself among the top pass rushers in college after a dominating season last year. He doesn't show much run support which scares some teams, and he needs time to work on this. He would primarily be used in passing situations, and would have to be taken by a team with a strict scheme fit (Much like Bruce Irvin was in Seattle).

Danielle Hunter (DE, LSU)- Hunter is a freak athlete. Based on that alone teams will be interested in drafting him. He has a ton of raw talent, and uses it more than instinct which can be a problem. He has a high motor and won't give up on plays often. Hard working guy, who if utilized right could be a solid starter. Hunter would need to fall into the right coaching staff so he could be coached up.

Shaq Thompson (LB, Washington)- Thompson had hype surrounding him all season long. I feel like a lot of the hype is gone because a lot of scouts and coaches have no idea where to play him. Thompson was a monster in college, playing running back, safety and linebacker. He has all the tools to be successful on defense regardless of where he is playing.

2015 NFL Mock Draft: Post Free-Agency

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Jameis Winston (QB, Florida State)

Tampa Bay is already heavily investing time into learning more about the Heisman Trophy winner. The have already met with Winston at the combine, and have had more meetings since then. Winston has more than likely convinced the Bucs that he has changed his ways and will not be an off the field issue. Winston is shaping up to be the sure-lock for the first overall pick.

2. Tennessee Titans- Leonard Williams (DL, USC)

Williams may be the best prospect in this years draft and the Titans could be drafting a potential immediate impact player. Williams has recently drawn comparison to JJ Watt, and while that may seem like a stretch, his skills are undoubtedly better than any other defensive lineman in there draft.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Dante Fowler Jr. (EDGE, Florida)

Fowler has the size, speed and tools every team looks for when drafting a potential game-changer that can rush the passer. Fowler will have to continue to impress to be the first "EDGE" off the board even if irks not Jacksonville who is taking one off the board. The Jaguars could use a player like Fowler since they're losing some key pass-rushers in free agency.

4. Oakland Raiders- Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)

Oakland will be looking to add weapons to an offense on the rise. Putting the best receiver in the draft on the field with Derek Carr could lead to a swing in the AFC West sooner rather than later. White jumps Amari Cooper as the first receiver taken this year, due in part to the amazing combine he had. He ran faster and out preformed all of the other potential first-round receivers, including Cooper. This pick is going to be the turning point in the draft, prompting other teams to try to trade into the top 10 and grab Cooper.

5. Washington Redskins- Shane Ray (EDGE, Missouri)

Washington will be looking to replace now free-agent linebacker Brian Orakpo, who has been injury stricken for a decent portion of his career. Ray proved that he can be productive at an elite level, having preformed in the SEC, and looked like he put on more muscle at the combine. His speed and high motor will likely help him early in his career while he adapts to the NFL game.

6. New York Jets- Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)

I don't mock trades in the draft, and i still believe there is a shot the Jets wind up trading out of this spot. I could see Mariota being taken by somebody in the 6 spot, but if there isn't a trade, the Jets need a pass rusher. Gregory may be the most talented EDGE in this class, but comes with baggage. He has failed 2 drug tests in the last year, and some teams may pass on him because of this. I don't think the Jets could let him slip away based on his skills and the potential to be a sack machine.

7. Chicago Bears- Amari Cooper (WR, Alabama)

The Bears could solidify one of the NFL's best receiving tandems by drafting Cooper to replace Brandon Marshall, who was traded to the Jets in the off-season. Cooper, in my opinion, still edges out Kevin White as the best receiver in the class. His size speed and sure hands could make him the early candidate for Rookie of the Year.

8. Atlanta Falcons- Vic Beasley (EDGE, Clemson)

Atlanta should look to address their lack of pass-rushing that has haunted them for a few seasons. Along with Beasley, Randy Gregory could land here, but I think the off-field issues will prevent him from landing in Atlanta. Beasley is a pure pass-rusher with amazing athletic skill. He should make an impact immediately and see the field on passing downs.

9. New York Giants- Brandon Scherff (OL, Iowa)

New York needs to add more pieces on the offensive line to keep Eli Manning upright long enough to find his targets. Sherff is projected as a guard in the NFL, but is versatile enough to play guard and tackle if needed. He has toughness and a good head on his shoulders, something the Giants will love. He has good power and excels in run blocking, and shows good footwork and lateral movement in pass blocking.

10. St. Louis Rams- Andrus Peat (OL, Stanford)

St. Louis is returning all 11 starters on offense next season, as well as their defensive coordinator. They could use this pick to sure up their secondary, but haven't addressed holes along the offensive line during free agency. Peat is a versatile lineman like most of the other prospects in this class, and could play multiple positions on the line. The Rams have holes to fill, and adding Peat would give them an immediate starter or plug-and-play type player until he finds a permanent position.

11. Minnesota Vikings- La'el Collins

Minnesota filled the gap at wide receiver by trading for veteran Mike Wallace, and could have a lethal passing game. Adding some meat to the offensive line should be considered high priority. Only two quarterbacks in the league threw more passes under pressure than Teddy Bridgewater. Collins is a huge framed player who shows skills in both facets of the offensive game. He would likely play right tackle for Minnesota with the capability of moving over to the left side if Ryan Khalil doesn't progress.

12. Cleveland Browns- Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)

Cleveland needs to get tougher in the trenches. Shelton could be a great run-stopper in the NFL, and potentially an All-Pro. He is amazing in run protection, and could be a three-down tackle. Shelton is a gap eater that will open up holes for linebackers to come into gaps and make plays. Cleveland has some talent on defense and adding Shelton would boost their defensive line.

13. New Orleans Saints- Trae Waynes (CB, Michigan State)

New Orleans gave up 33 touchdown passes last season, and ranked 31st in overall defense last season. Waynes is probably the best corner in the draft and has the perfect combination of size and speed to excel in the pros. He isn't afraid to come up and make tackles and can stop big plays from blowing up in space. He has exceptional ball skills, and if he doesn't intercept a ball he will more than likely break it up. Waynes could easily be the best corner in New Orleans.

14. Miami Dolphins- DaVante Parker (WR, Louisville)

Miami traded away Mike Wallace and added Kenny Stills. Aside from Stills and Jarvis Landry, there isn't another reliable option on their roster. Parker has top-10 talent, and could easily produce for the 'Phins right out of the gate. With Stills and Parker outside, Landry will be able to play slot and draw favorable match ups. Miami would live to give Ryan Tannehill another target with the skills that DaVante Parker possesses.

15. San Fransisco 49ers- Arik Armstead (DT, Oregon)

I believe it is a reach for Armstead to be drafted this high, but  the Niners have somewhat of a need here. You would hope for more production from a player being drafted in the first round (he only had 2.5 sacks in 2014). Most scouts and NFL coaches project that he will be more productive as a pro, but  I think he could potentially be the bust of the first round.

16. Houston Texans- Jalen Collins (CB, LSU)

Houston re-signed Kareem Jackson for one year, but should look to add a fresh face at corner. They need players to match up with Andrew Luck and the arsenal of tools a his disposal. Collins excels in man coverage and could fit well with Houston.

17. San Diego Chargers- Eddie Goldman (DT, Florida State)

San Diego addressed most of their needs in free-agency, and can add a cornerstone player to their defense in Goldman. Goldman has an NFL body and is a monster run-stopper. The only drawback to Goldman is his lack of pass-rush, and if developed he could be a legit three-down tackle in the NFL.

18. Kansas City Chiefs- Landon Collins (SS, Alabama)

With the unfortunate departure of Eric Berry, the Chiefs have a huge pair of shoes to fill. Berry may never be cleared to play football again, and if this is the case they'll need a game changer to step in and play immediately. Collins is by far the best safety in the draft, showing great pass coverage and ball skills. He isn't afraid to come into the box and provide run support. His level of play can change games, and he should be a perennial Pro-Bowler.

19. Cleveland Browns- DJ Humphries (OL, Florida)

The Browns are going to come into the season with a lot of questions on offense. They'll be without Josh Gordon, and Johnny Maziel may not be playing to start the season. With that said, the coaching staff understands how important the running game will be. Adding a lineman who can run block with power and assertiveness will make head coach Mike Pettine feel a lot better when pounding the ball.

20. Philadelphia Eagles- Marcus Mariota (QB, Oregon)

Once again, I don't mock trades. I don't think Mariota slips into the 20th pick, but I do think he ends up in Philadelphia. Wether or not Philly has to trade up depends on what happens earlier in the draft. Regardless, Chip Kelly gets his prized quarterback and Oregon star. Mariota's best chance at NFL success is with the Eagles, and he can learn the system early while Sanchez and Sam Bradord compete his rookie year.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)

The Bengals are getting old on defense and need to add some young talent all around. Dupree impressed at the combine and has the typical NFL frame. He is a relentless pass-rusher and is surprisingly skilled when asked to drop back into coverage. The Bengals can't miss with this pick if they want to compete in the division.

22. Pittsburgh Steelers- Ereck Flowers (OL, Miami)

Pittsburgh could use an upgrade on the offensive line. In the last 10 years they've only used two first-round picks on offensive lineman (Maurkice Pouncy and David DeCastro) and those players have produced at a high level. Flowers is a relentless run blocker that could blow open holes for LeVeon Bell.

23. Detroit Lions- Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)

Detroit lost both of their starting defensive tackles. Filling the holes that Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley left will be nearly impossible. Malcolm Brown could be a good start to recovering from that blow. He easily sheds off blockers and makes plays, and has impressed scouts more and more during the pre-draft process. It would be foolish for the Lions to do anything but draft a tackle.

24. Arizona Cardinals- Melvin Gordon (RB, Wisconsin)

Arizona was riddled with injuries all season, and found out the hard way that Andre Ellington may not be a true running-downs back in the NFL. Gordon is a hard nosed player who excels running between the tackles. Arizona needs to add a running back to take pressure off Carson Palmer and the passing game.

25. Carolina Panthers- TJ Clemmings (OT, Pittsburgh)

Carolina has to make some big moves along the offensive line in order to stay competitive. Drafting Clemmings in the first round is probably a reach but the hype surrounding him after the season will likely push him into the first round. He does have good footwork, but is very inconsistent at times and is a raw talent.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Marcus Peters (CB, Washington)

Drafting Peters means taking on some baggage for the Ravens, but his skills are undeniable. If not for off-field issues, he could've been the first corner drafted. Baltimore has a huge hole at corner and Peters would be a starter from day one.

27. Dallas Cowboys- Todd Gurley (RB, Georgia)

No brainer. DeMarco Murray exits; Todd Gurley enters and immediately becomes a ROTY candidate.  I think it would be impossible for any running back to run for less than 1,000 yards with the best offensive line in football in front of them. Gurley is coming off ACL surgery so is a bit of a risk, but the talent he has will likely make him a first round pick.

28. Denver Broncos- Carl Davis (DT, Iowa)

Denver has a great linebacking corps, but could use an upgrade anywhere on the defensive line. Carl Davis is a huge man, who regularly commands double teams, which could open up linebackers free to make plays in the backfield. Davis is quick off the ball and makes contact first. He lacks a true pass-rushing mentality but could improve and be very productive in the NFL.

29. Indianapolis Colts- Jordan Phillips (DT, Oklahoma)

The Colts could use some depth on the defensive line and Phillips is a very talented player. He eats up gaps and has good lower body strength that allows him to move bigger lineman around. The Colts need playmakers on defense to hold opponents back while the offense lights up the scoreboard.

30. Green Bay Packers- PJ Williams (CB, Florida State)

Green Bay needs another corner after Davon House left town. Williams has off-field issues after being charged with DUI. PJ has the talent to be an NFL corner, and shows the coverage skills and speed to handle receivers of higher caliber.

31. New Orleans Saints- Eric Kendricks (LB, UCLA)

After trading away Jimmy Graham, the Saints land back in the first round. They could use depth at linebacker and Kendricks is very versatile. He plays well in the run game, drops well in zone and man coverage and can get to the quarterback as well. Kendricks could be the best inside linebacker in the class.

32. New England Patriots- Kevin Johnson (CB, Wake Forest)

The Patriots are going to be without Brandon Browner and Darrelle Revis, leaving them with a depleted pass defense. Kevin Johnson is a hard-nose mentality which will help him get on the field early in his career. He does exceptionally well in man coverage and is adequate in zone as well. The Pats will need to draft a corner in order to stay atop their conference.
